Lifesaving activities on Larvotto Beach
On Monday, July 25th, to commemorate World Drowning Prevention Day, the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation was present on Larvotto Beach in Monaco to offer lifesaving workshops and animations, according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization.
The goal of this day is to raise public awareness about the dangers of water and about drowning prevention measures. The Foundation has brought together various partners who act daily to fight against drowning in the Principality and locally.
- The Terre Neuve 06 association and its 4 rescue dogs: Nox, Replay, Mataï and Magnum. These dogs performed lifesaving demonstrations with children and adults (harness, baywatch, board). The terre neuve is a dog particularly suitable for rescue at sea, given its swimming abilities, strength, resistance to cold and loyalty. The dog always needs a master to go to the water. The association aims to train cynotechnical teams in the field of aquatic rescue, with preparation for all levels.
- Lifeguards from the Monaco Maritime Police carried out sea rescue demonstrations aboard a jet ski and offered tours of their first aid station.
- Lifeguards from the Académie Monégasque de la Mer carried out lifesaving demonstrations with nipper boards.
