H.S.H. Princess Charlène at the 9ᵉ edition of the Rallye Princesse Charlène

On the morning of Wednesday 2 April, H.S.H. Princess Charlène attended the 9ᵉ edition of the Princess Charlène Rally, held in Fontvieille.

A fervent defender of the values of sport and solidarity, H.S.H. The Princess encouraged the young participants and took part in the activities on offer.

Organised by the Department of National Education, Youth and Sport (DENJS), in partnership with the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, the Peace and Sport organisation, the Monegasque Anti-Doping Committee and the Monaco Parents’ Association (APEM), this event aims to raise awareness of the values of sport among schoolchildren.

It is part of the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, celebrated every year on 6 April.

Nearly 400 3ᵉ students from the Principality’s schools (Collège Charles III, Institution FANB and Lycée Technique et Hôtelier – section SEGPA), divided into teams, took part in various activities:

  1. Conference and discussion with the Princess Charlène of Monaco Foundation and Peace and Sport, led by sportsmen and women Kevin Crovetto and Pierre Frolla (ambassadors for the Foundation and Peace and Sport), and Marlène Nidecker (Peace and Sport ambassador). The session also included a film screening followed by a debate.
  2. Drawing competition on the theme of sport and peace.
  3. Relay on ergometers.
  4. Lifesaving course, in collaboration with the Académie de la Mer.
  5. Quiz on the Princess Charlène of Monaco Foundation, Peace & Sport and the Monegasque Anti-Doping Committee.

At the end of the morning, several prizes were awarded, including two presented by H.S.H. Princess Charlène for the drawing competition prize and the overall 1st place prize in the challenge.

The event concluded with a ‘White Card’ souvenir photo, in support of Peace and Sport’s global campaign.
