World Drowning Prevention Day, this Tuesday, July 25th at the Stade Nautique Rainier III
As part of World Drowning Prevention Day, the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation is organising this Tuesday, July 25, at the Stade Nautique Rainier III, activities to raise awareness of the dangers of drowning in partnership with the Mairie de Monaco, the Monaco Red Cross, the Monaco Maritime and Airport Police Division, the Monaco Fire Brigade and the Académie Monégasque de la Mer.
From 2pm to 6pm at the entrance to the pool, stands & animations will be held by the Foundation, the Maritime Police, the Red Cross and the Fire Brigade.
In the afternoon, water rescue demonstrations will be carried out in the pool by the lifeguards of the Rainier III Nautical Stadium and the lifeguards of the Maritime Police.
Throughout the day, entry to the pool will be free for all children aged under 18.
The objective of this day is to remind children and adults of practical solutions to promote their safety in the aquatic environment, in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization.
The date of 25 July was decided in April 2021 by the United Nations, with the adoption of the Resolution on Global Drowning Prevention which calls on all Member States to take national and local measures to address this silent epidemic.
