Road Safety Day: A Day of Awareness and Sports for the Whole Family

On Sunday, March 23, late in the morning, T.S.H. Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene took part in the first edition of Road Safety Day. Organized by the Princess Charlene Foundation, this event dedicated to bicycle road safety and the promotion of sustainable mobility took place on the Esplanade of Larvotto Beach.

Throughout the day, numerous free activities allowed visitors to learn and practice safe cycling habits:

An awareness village, in collaboration with the Monaco Red Cross, the Monaco Fire Brigade, the Monaco Public Security, BEKING, and Monabike, offering interactive stands: smoothie bike, ice cream stand, and activities focused on road safety.

A pump track, providing enthusiasts with a space to learn and improve their cycling skills.

A road safety circuit, designed to help young cyclists enhance their reflexes and bike handling in real-life conditions.

The Monabike challenge, a sports challenge aimed at encouraging urban cycling.

At 9:45 a.m., six teams made up of public figures and representatives of Monegasque institutions set off on a cycling relay across the Principality, riding through the streets for eight hours. Each kilometer traveled helped raise public awareness of the importance of more responsible and safer mobility.

The Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation warmly thanks all the partners who contributed to the success of this day: the Monaco Red Cross, the Monaco Fire Brigade, the Monaco Public Security, BEKING, Monabike, the Prince’s Carabiniers, as well as the many volunteers and athletes involved.

A huge thank you also goes to all participants, young and old, who made this event a unique moment of sharing, prevention, and sports.

Thanks to this collective commitment, Road Safety Day is now an essential event in the Principality for promoting safer and more sustainable mobility.
