Tour de France 2024
On Sunday 21st of July, THR.H.S.H. Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene gave the start of the final stage of the 111th edition of the Tour de France, linking Monaco to Nice through a 33.7 km individual time trial.
The Princely Couple had previously gone to the Village Départ for the Official Ceremony in the company of Christian Prudhomme, director of the Tour de France, visited the team and the stand of the Princess Charlene Foundation, a stand where the public was able to discover and test the water bike ahead of the 180-kilometre water bike race “The Crossing” linking Calvi to Monaco on 6 and 7 September.
H.S.H. the Prince then followed the entire individual time trial to Nice where the talented rider, Tadej Pogacar, triumphed, winning his third Tour de France.
After 3,498 km of road travel, the final podium of the Grande Boucle was won by Slovenian Tadej Pogacar ahead of Danish Jonas Vingegaard and Belgian Remco Evenepoel.
