Water safety in japan

In collaboration with the Japan Lifesaving Association, water safety programs have been implemented in various locations due to increased demand ahead of the peak season/summer holidays in Japan. The program was on hiatus in recent years due to COVID-19, but in 2023, practical sessions were successfully conducted at beaches and pools in almost all scheduled sessions, following the relaxation of restrictions.

The lifesaving sports competition took place in September in Shimoda, Shizuoka. Participation numbers were higher than in previous years, with over 200 children taking part.

The sports clinic for children also exceeded expectations with 354 participants. Given the scarcity of lifesaving sports instructors in Japan, the foundation’s grant supported the event’s organization. This enabled children to enhance their water safety knowledge and skills, empowering them to protect themselves and fostering continued enthusiasm for water safety through lifesaving sports.
