The Crossing : Calvi – Monaco 2024
The Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation is organising the second edition of its relay race, The Crossing: Calvi – Monaco Water Bike Challenge, which will take place on the 6th and the 7th of September 2024.
This charity sports challenge aims to reach Monaco from Calvi in a minimum time by water bike. Beyond the sporting performance, this event will raise awareness on drowning prevention, water safety and raise funds.
On September 6th, the 5 teams will start from the port of Calvi for a race of less than 24 hours. The 4 athletes of each team take turns at sea over a distance of 180 kilometres. The conditions of the crossing are various: wind, swell, fog, night, sun, rain.
Drowning Prevention and Call for Donations
As part of the race, the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation is calling for donations to fight drowning. Funds raised will be used to fund the programs “Learn to Swim, for learning swimming”, “Water Safety, for preventing drowning” and “Sport & Education” of the Foundation.
